Steven Witjaksono

Born in Nairobi, Kenya, I've had the incredible privilege of living overseas in Bali, Bangladesh, Egypt, Pakistan, and Singapore, having grown up as the son of a doctor from the World Health Organization for the United Nations. Ever since I was little, I loved people watching, as I would sit listening intently to the bustling conversations all around me. I would listen to multicultural people, speaking with different accents and observe their mannerisms in sometimes animated conversations. I learned the art of imitation, fascinated by the rich cultures around me. At home, I was the sibling that would repeat what I heard movie characters say, annoying my older sisters to no end. Having been exposed to all of the diverse cultures helped me become a success in my previous career because I am able to connect with people easily, adapting to many different cultures and personalities. My credentials you ask? I didn't get dubbed the "Fun Uncle" by just resting on my laurels. Bringing countless characters to life during story time has earned me that title. Entertaining my nephews is no easy task! I once spoke "Chinese" to my Chinese-speaking friend, who commented that I speak Chinese SO well. In reality, I don't speak Chinese. Her comment: "but it sounded just like Chinese!" After many years of encouragement, I've finally decided to pursue my passion as a Voice Actor. I have many characters stored in my head (I know, I know how this may sound), and through my recent professional training, I've learned to let loose while being able to take direction and pivot quickly. I look forward to making your characters, story, and book come to life and working with you!
